I know it's been quite some time since I smelled the sweet aroma of a summer rain (or ANY rain) for that matter, but what is that smell outside? It's really odd and not rain-like at all. Almost metallic.

It's hailing in Alamo Heights! THe rain chased me all the way home from St. Mary's.

That smell is, I think, Ozone. It comes from all the lightning.

Grrrr. Now I just lost my DirecTV signal. I guess it's a small price to pay for rain.

Quarter to half dollar size hail here in Alamo Heights plus a wind gust to 55 mph. I busted, but God I am glad we got rain.

I was at an event near the airport and the power went out at 9:25 pm....high winds then a down pour with hail. It poured enough to cause some serious flooding in some of the low lying dips in the street. The guy in front of me hit a huge puddle and hydroplaned sideways. Scared the daylights out of me! It may have hit hard and fast...but it was quite a bit of water....and the street outside is still running pretty hard with run off...from an hour ago! Yay!!!
