I don't know if anyone knows anything about it, but it is worth a shot.

It looks like I'm coming in on the trail end of the construction here, but I just wanted to know what the plan is on 35 south of the 90/10 interchange on the southwest side (Zarzamora/Military/Somerset) just outside of 410. I've been driving in that area and catch random closures at all times of the day. I'd reroute myself if I knew it was going to be going on, but the news never mentions it like they talk about 410 closures on the northwest or northeast side of town.

Is this construction almost done, in the middle, just getting started, etc? TxHwyMan? Anyone?

It's nice three lanes and flows very nicely during the day and is heaven on earth compared to my drive on 10 on my way home (it almost makes me want to move to the southside....)

On the section outside Loop 410, they're rebuilding the roadway to handle the increase in heavy trucks in that area when the new UP multimodal freight terminal opens in Von Ormy later this year. The new roadway is going to be built with concrete and there will be some ramp changes in the area. (This project is not listed on my site as it is south of the area I cover.)

On the section of I-35 between Zarzamora and Somerset, they're reconfiguring the interchange at Spur 422/Palo Alto Rd. as well some other assorted improvements like ramp revisions and a new pedestrian overpass. It's scheduled to be done later this year.

On the section between Military and US 90, they're pretty much done. It was a rehab of the existing roadway which included rebuilding and widening the overpasses (the old ones didn't have shoulders), removal of the elevated median, removal of most of the pedestrian overpasses (they really weren't being used), widening of the access roads, ramp revisions, signage and lighting improvements, and repaving of all the roadways.
