Why can't people just pay their money, shut off their cell phones and stay quiet for two hours? Is it THAT tough? I feel the same way when I go to a theatre event: Are people that short of attention-span that they feel the need to fill every second with some gadget?

I sound like my mom saying all of this, but I suppose that part of getting older is realizing that your parents were mostly right. That's scary and wonderful, all at the same time

Amen! I've been to both movie theaters and the Majestic and seen people on their cell phones texting! The light from the )(#*$#! phone is so disturbing, especially if the phone hasn't been muted and the keypad is making noises. Not only should the cell phones be off or at least muted, but they should be stowed away in a pocket or purse and only taken out during intermission! I could forgive someone if they were receiving a text from their baby sitter that their kids were sick, but these people carry on a long drawn out conversation during the show! If it's that danged important, get up and go outside!

One theater I can wholeheartedly recommend is Fredericksburg Theater Company. I went to see "Nunsense II" last night and it was really funny. The theater is fairly small, nice leather seats, and really not a bad seat in the house. The show was interactive and the music and singing were excellent. They have some great talent up there and I will definitely go back to visit. The tickets were even extremely cheap!! $20 adults, $5.50 kids under 18. Anyway, wanted to give a shout out to them.....great time last night! There was a fairly stern warning from Mother Superior before the show started regarding cell phones, too! Dunno who they get to do it for other shows, but when Mother Superior talks, the audience listens.

And this scares the bejeezus outta me:

Default Another good shooting... :)

A licensed concealed handgun carrier fired several shots in the parking lot of a downtown hotel Sunday morning, when he came outside as a woman was stealing his truck, authorities said.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, told police he heard the sound of his red Ford F350 pickup's ignition starting around 10:30 a.m. and walked outside his hotel room at the Motel 6 in the 200 block of North Pecos La Trinidad, said Sgt. Devon Lambert with the San Antonio Police Department.

Pic looked like an older model. I'd prefer a new one...should've let her steal it and filed an insurance claim. The newer 2010 models are hot. Good way to use the cash for clunkers program.

Just to note the man shot at the truck the woman jumped into that he said tried to run him over. It was a legitimate use of deadly force in self-defense. I am glad he is OK, and hope those who tried to steal his truck aren't...

Oh, and next time he needs to carry something better than a "small caliber handgun!" Something that starts with a '4' will work, but a .357 Magnum will do the job quite nicely as well!
