question......
I am 99% sure that I broke my pinky finger last night (NO there wasn't any alcohol involved ). It hurts like H3LL!!!! I ran into my daughters truck and my pinky caught my fall and it was sticking out the side of my hand. I grabbed it and straightened it out. Now I have it in a splint, without the splint I can't handle the pain.
So, my question is, what would a doctor do for a broken finger?? My family tells me to go but I think they will just do the same thing I have done.

It is broke at the biggest knuckle. It actually may be too late for a doctor to do anything.
Does anyone know???

I'd go just for the cool pain pills! Having just had a kiddo with a bum thumb, I can tell ya that they'll xray it. If there's any setting to do, they'll do that - though if it's been a few days that may not happen. Then they'll splint it and give you some phyical therapy to do down the road.
What happens if you don't go? You could lose range of motion and strength. And I suppose the worst case could be some kind of nerve damage...but I'm no doc. Just a mom of a 14yr old with lots of ER time!

Hope ya feel better soon!

1st. thank your broken finger for messing up my nerd joke

I've had many injuries and almost never gone to the doctor
it will heal someday, but it might not heal "correctly".
For example, I think I dislocated my left knee... never went to the doctor and now my knew goes back about 1/2 inch farther than my left knee.

It's either on A&E or Discovery and it's some reality contest show with as seen on TV product hawkers. I saw an ad for it and wondered why?
