An example of what I dislike about what's happening in SA. A lot and I mean a lot of stuff is geared toward the Hispanic/Latino segment. The SA Film Festival is one of them. This thing should be promoting movies of all genres and all ethnicities, instead they largely promote Latino/Hispanic inspired films and showcase the films at the Instituto Cultural de Mexico. There's already CineFestival doing that why have another film festival majority dedicated to one segment of society? Speaking of CineFestival, well, not so much CineFestival but the Guadulpe Cultural Center. I mean, seriously, why are they limited to just hispanic/Mexican/Latino arts? I know its on the near west side and that area is 99.9999 percent Hispanic/Mexican/Latino but so what, enough with the limitations. If that opened it up to everyone that area could create some great synergy with UTSA or downtown in general.

Anyway, my rants over.
I agree a million trillion percent. I can't say anything more without sounding mean. So, I won't.

My rant doesn't come from a place of anger it comes from a place of utter fustration. I get it, people are proud of their heritage. I get it and I understand but gosh, get over it, please expand your ideas and mindset already otherwise your limitations become our limitations in the long run.

I actually agree with you ... but...

FYI, I'm just trying to explain it to you...
You can blame capitalism
when's the last time that you heard of a Native American festival, fair, pageantry, etc.
I bet people in towns with 0 latinos celebrated 5 de Mayo because...
"s..., we don't know, we just want to celebrate something and get drunk"

The other reason,
cultural differences... for example, pageantries are a big deal for latinos and in Latinamerica.
In Venezuela, Miss Venezuela, Miss World and Miss Universe get ratings that can be compared to the World Series or the NBA finals in the US.

Cheer up,
I was forced to celebrate St. Pats for more than a decade.
The only Irish in me is all the green beer that I drank.

You mean like King Antonio and his 'Order of the Alamo'? Yes, I agree. I hate that San Antonio segregationist behavior, too.

If you don't understand my point or the general point myself and others are making just say so don't be sarcastic.

Only three of those girls deserve second looks. Hottest Latina shouldn't be the title.
