First of all...
I'm talking about any political events from either side of the political spectrum.

Are people ok with political events by the Alamo?
I would think that the Alamo is such a huge Texan symbol that people wouldn't allow political events in front of it that would tie the Alamo with a political party.

Just to give you an example,
imagine one of the crazy dictators of the World offering a huge amount of money to give a speech in front of the Alamo.
After that, everybody is gonna think of the Alamo as the place where that crazy dictator gave a speech.

You should totally be the cameraman of such an event!

It's already remebered as the place Ozzie Osbourne peed. He was arrested and paid a fine for relieving himself on the side of the building. What difference would a dictator make?

I have to say I don't really care if they just use the Alamo as a backdrop. If they use it to somehow further their agenda, say, by implying that ALL of San Antonio or Texas agrees with them, then I find would find it problematic.

Personally, I am not OK with any political activity around the Alamo. It is a symbol of Texas independence and should not be used to further any one specific political agenda. There are plenty of other venues around San Antonio that can be used, but the Alamo is a sacred place and should be respected accordingly.

And that includes all the people that shout whatever they are spouting in and around the front of the Alamo. We have been there with visitors on several occasions only to have some loudmouth clown yelling about God-only-knows-what and it is embarassing. What that isn't considered disturbing the peace is beyond me, I am a full advocate for the right of free speech but there is a time and place for it. We have other laws that protect the Alamo, why not ones that address this?

People can say anything,
my problem is when it is a politician or somebody promoting a political agenda (except for the governor of the state and the president)

I don't know what happens when a dictator takes a pee on a historic building.

He did that on the Cenotaph, not the actual Alamo walls.
