And isn't it pronounced cheena latina--so it rhymes? That's what my ex co-workers called it--they used to go for lunch all the time. Maybe they were just being funny? Dunno....whenever I ventured that way for lunch it was to get to Rosario's.

Yes its pronounced "cheena" latina which would mean a female chinese latina woman. i thought it was a pretty popular resturant until they were on the kitchen cops for having rats and roaches and a cat living inside thier kithen.

I like Peng's on Bandera/Huebner (same shopping center as Tim's Oriental Market). I think it's good Chinese food for a good price. They're a mom and pop shop and reminds me of the Chinese restaurant I used to work at in high school. The service is not the BEST, but it's solid.

I haven't been in years so I'm not sure if they're still there. I work more on the east side now...haven't been over there in awhile.

I have only tried it once, but Wok on Wheels was very good yesterday. I tried their Teriyaki Chicken (yes, I know) and added a little duck sauce. It was very nice. Amanda's Sesame chicken was good too.

I will certain order again, and when I do I plan to try the Hot and Sour soup along with something actually Chinese.

Good Chinese to me is a place that uses chicken breast and not boiled chicken thighs. I can usually tell how good a chinese rest will be when I see the take out container. Black tupperware, with a clear top usually indicates good food ahead!

Sadly, we have mostly mediocre Chinese-American food. Standard sliced up critter in brown sauce with some vegies. Many places used a surplus of celery and onions as fillers.

We did used to like Wynne's on the NW side but they retired. Their replacement is just typical sesame chicken and beef with broccoli.

Menicus is ok.

It's like the debate if Tex-Mex is Mexican. Most of our 'Chinese' is americanized. Austin has some better places.

Places like Pei-Wei or PF Chang's are just the more expensive McD's of Asian cuisine.

VIETNAM is great, a little pricey for me at least but whenever me and my best friend have some extra money thats where we are and we just split the bill, its most definitely worth it..yum!
