Denny's...if you can handle the food. Some of it's good and some is very bad.

Houlihan's (midnight?), Boston's Pizza, Crabby Jack's, Bennigans, Gypsy Cafe

I miss my old late-night favorite, Maggie's. The food wasn't anything to write home about, but it wasn't bad...but I loved the atmosphere.

I second the rec for Luther's on Main at Evergreen. Good food, nice variety - not just burgers - and open till 3am every night... not just weekends. Other posters in this forum have taken issue with Luther's service, but I've never had a bad experience there. In fact, on my last visit, the waiter was self-deprecatingly funny and very conscientious... water was always filled, food delivered hot, and checked on us periodically to see if we needed anything.

I do wish there was a late-night coffeehouse type place (not a Jims or IHOP!) in the area (or anywhere in town), but apparently no such luck.

Don't go to the Denny's at Military and 90 late at night. I went there last year at about 3:00 AM and you could tell the people working that late didn't really care about quality.. I work 8 PM - 6 AM and there aren't a lot of choices. The Chacho's on Bandera was VERY good a couple weeks ago, though, and that was on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning. We went there around 2:00 AM and there were only a couple other people in there. The food was great and the portions were even larger than normal. The only complaint was that it was COLD in there and that's coming from me! The a/c was definitely cranking.

The only problem with Luthers if you get there two late you have to deal with all the drunks coming out of the clubs across the street!

Shisha cafe on Eckert near Babcock is open until 2am weekdays, 4am weeknights. They have a mediterranean menu and nice large patio seating area, but it is usually a bit smoky from all the hookahs, and they do not serve alcohol.
