Good Evening All,

As most of you know we live in The Villages of Westcreek. I get very upset most mornings when I get onto 1604 at Westcreek Oaks ( heading towards 90 E). Why don't people use that accelration lane? I constantly see those stopped at Westcreek Oaks waiting for both southbound lanes to clear so they can get into the inside lane. I guess people don't know that they can start out in the right lane then switch over to the left lane. All this does is hold up traffic. After stopping at the intersection I get into the turn /acceleration lane and when traffic is clear in the outside lane I speed up and merge.

It's simple and it helps keep traffic from building / backing up on Westcreek Oaks.

It's not just there, but most places where there are acceleration lanes.
Coming off of 90W to 1604N, people just sit there waiting for it to clear instead of merging with traffic.

Speaking of the 1604 and 90 area...the traffic light for southbound 1604 traffic needs to be adjusted to add more time. The northbound traffic doesn't back up at all but the southbound traffic backs up almost back to Marbach at times.

I think you have your directions messed up. If southbound 1604 traffic is backed up to Marbach, that means the entire loop is a parking lot

that light does suck, though. I've only made it through once so far. It was a total waste of money that should have gone to a lot of other places.

Negative ghostrider...southbound traffic passes Potranco then the new light, then Marbach before getting to 90. So the southbound traffic backs up almost to Marbach.

the only way southbound traffic (heading from Potranco to 90) could be backed up to Marbach (located between the new light and 90) is if it was backed up all the way around the loop. I think 1604 is at least 100 miles in diameter, so that would definitely be one for Guinness.

rd - think about it...if you are travelling south on 1604 from Potranco then you are heading towards 90. If the light at 90 is causing southbound 1604 traffic to backup then the line of cars would be backed up towards the north (which is opposite of the way you are travelling) and that is where the cars are lined up. However, those cars are travelling to the south. So, the southbound traffic is backed up back towards Marbach. We are talking from the light at 90 back towards Marbach. Not from 90 all the way around to Marbach.

Oh... At least we're on the same page now. I haven't seen the traffic back up too bad at that one yet.
