EWR train connects to Amtrak/NJ Transit as well as rental cars and parking areas. To me, this is more efficient than DFW's system. Same with SFO...connect to BART/CalTrain/Rental Cars and Parking garages.
I will qualify my statements by saying that I fly circa 300K miles/year..traversing through the above named airports (DFW too)many,many times.
If I'm not mistaken,DFW train connects to Hyatt only, aside from the terminals.

Alas.....its been a few years, and then we didn't have the need for the tran system.....hence my ignorance. Im sooooooo glad its been updated. We actually took a cab to another terminal to avoid the Airtrans. It was indeed a painful experience.

Both areas are very nice. You are lucky to have to chose between two nice Texas cities.
We lived in Dallas a few years back, and have lived in SA for 3 years now, so I can point see good things for both areas. DFW is a *huge* city. Many of the great things to do will take some considerable time to get to from Cedar Hill. I personally hated the traffic in Dallas- it was obscene IMHO. But I did love and enjoy the variety of things to do, diversity, nightlife, museums, shopping in Dallas. There was a lot there I liked. San Antonio is a beautiful city, with so much to do, and great parks and recreation. This is a very family friendly city, with great shopping, restaurants, museums, art.. and you are a few hours away from sending the day in Austin, or hitting the beach in Corpus. And, it is cheaper to live here in SA than Dallas.
I didn't catch where you are moving from, but do hope you love the heat and are accustomed to it. Both cities get good and hot in the summer! Dallas gets more seasonal weather IMO than SA, where it seems like its hot, warm, and an occasional chilly a day or two in the winter. That could certainly affect your outdoor activities either way.
