My wife said that she heard this from her coworkers neighbor today. Anyone else know anything?

while i don't know if this store inparticular is going to shut down, i can say that i read an article a few months back that talked about business' that got "too big for their britches" and were now going to shut down a number of stores --- krispy kreme was one of them --- so it very well may be true...

I recall that everybody was saying "wait til Krispy Kreme gets here". Now that their here (and almost gone) I think that they were over-rated. Some of their donuts were kind of over-the-top as far as sugar content. The glazed donuts were diabetes looking for a place to happen. Glazed donuts were not meant to have a sugar-coating at least 1/16" (or more) thick. They would knot your stomach up just from the sugar content. It would not surprise me if it were to close.

^^^ yes, i remember when KK first got here --- the first location to actually sell them was at USAA ... i was an employee at the time and when my friends outside of work knew that we had them they would put in orders for me to bring them home ... KK would actually drive down dozens of donuts from Austin every morning to sell in 1 of the cafeterias at USAA ... and i agree that they were overrated ---

They grew too quickly, and i think they got money hungry opening many locations. Foolish the people who stood in lines for hours for the doughnuts.

KK is wildly popular in the town I am from. I grew up having them occasionally as a treat, and they are a favorite of mine. Terrible for the waist line, but very yummy. I used to take my girls when they were little there to watch them make the doughnuts, and get a free doughnut for their A's on their report card. Too bad they are not more successful here.

I hope they don't close. Surely this town can keep the remaining 3 locations open?

Doesn't sound to me like they are going out of business here with offers like this one...

Or could be a last ditch effort to get people back in the stores.
