Since Paletas closed where in San Antonio can you buy the SAME Kalamata olives? My family had been going to Luis Paletas since we were kids and his store was downtown. I have found some olives but they are not the same as Paletas were. I believe his were moracon olives. HEB has some that look like they are the same but at $7.50 a pound!! when I was only paying $3.60 a pound at Paletas..

No Jason's did not own Paletta's. It was a family-owned Italian grocery and deli that closed several years ago. To the OP - your best bet for finding the same olives they carried at Paletta's is to talk to the manager at Central Market and let him know what you're looking for. Even if they don't carry it, they can probably special order some for you. As for the price, maybe the reason Paletta's finally went under is because they weren't charging enough to make a profit. Don't expect to find quality olives at those prices anywhere.
