This one is open because it presented more opportunities to point out to the OP what she was missing and left open the possibility of an opposing view of the city.

And I don't automatically see that phrase as an insult because I imagine some folks in the military grow tired of seeing uniforms at times. Let's demonstrate that there's room for open-mindedness among city boosters, too.

Let's get back to the OP's topic, please.

The bottom line is clear, no one is responsible for your happiness besides you. If you have honestly given SA a chance, and find it is not to your liking, then you have to weigh your options of moving elsewhere or accepting that you'll never like it here.

Not just military, but Mexicans, too. I mean, the first thing I thought was hello, it's San Antonio! If you don't love our latin friends you won't love SA.

Apparently, the OP is a she, African-American, and lookin' for love. Interesting reading her older posts.

Anyway, I agree with majormadmax...your personal happiness begins and ends with your own self!

The OP complained about the 2 things that pretty much make San Antonio.
Did he even say what he's looking for.

I have no problem with people saying "I don't like where you live" but at least you have to say what it is that you are looking for.

Those two things did help form SA but they certainly don't "make" SA now.

dead. no
dying. no
alive and fabulous...no
alive and well. bingo

good for you that you have pin pointed what you do not like about a city before moving here.

i suppose you can part with the deposit on your apt. and scrap the plans to move here.

or, move her and avoid what you do not like.

it is easy to avoid the parts of SA that you find off putting.

I hate that everyone assumes all of SA is the same. I do not see military uniforms on a daily basis (except a few ROTC students going to class) and the zip code (78256) I live in is not of a Latin majority.
