Volunteer! Become a big brother to a youth in need, deliver meals on wheels, help feed the homeless, work at the animal shelter, the arts, any worthy cause. Find some cause that touches your heart and jump right in. Do something that helps someone else and you will ba amazed how easy it is to meet other wonderful folks, and we are not talking the types that hang out at bars all night long looking for Mr Goodbar (and you would have to be a certain age to understand that last statement)....

Well, I have an idea for all or any of you who want to get out of the house and get around the city! JOIN Meetup.com - it is free. Find yourself a group with interests similar to yours, join it, and get yourself to a meeting or a gathering. They are great for meeting others - like you - who might be new to San Antonio and don't want to venture out alone.

I joined two groups when I moved here 2 years ago: The Coffee/tea MeetUp and the Taste of San Antonio (dining experience) MeetUp. I met some great people and I learned the city very quickly! If there aren't any groups that appeal to you - start one up! But, I'd highly recommend you attend a couple other MeetUps first so you get an idea how to run your own.

MeetUp.com = highly recommended! Many interest groups - you'll have your choice! Good Luck!
