What are the pros and cons of living in San Antonio??

That question could create the longest response in the history of the board. i would say the pros outweigh the cons by a huge margin. But that's my opinion. I lived on the East Coast, West Coast, Chicago, Denver, even Austin and I always return to SA. Nuff said. It's all a personal choice of priorities.

The weather from October to May is generally wonderful, today being an excellent example. (This past winter was a little too grey and drizzly for my taste, but it was a bit unusual.)

We respect our neighbors, and understand that they have rights, too. We may not always agree, but we'll help each other out!

PROS - Really friendly folks, lots to do, very family-friendly, tons of wonderful restaurants, great weather and a relatively low cost-of-living combined with a better-than-average economy

CONS - Driving/traffic can sometimes be painful, summers can take some getting used to, one of the fattest cities in the country and some parts are not as developed as others.

Not everybody loves it here, but the vast majority do.

And I agree with ShaneSA, the pros far outweigh the cons!

Yes there's Pro's in San Antonio, they walk the streets like Austin Hwy, around Travis Park, up and down S. Presa, W. Commerce, and on some of those same streets are the Cons. but, its not a bad place to live. Been living it and loving it for over 30 years.

Open-ended topics like this can end up as free-for-alls. Best way to avoid being part of that problem is to offer your opinion on the pros and cons, rather than your opinion of another member's pros and cons.

I'd recommend changing the question to something a little more narrow.

It's a lot easier to help somebody that asks: "How is the heat in SA?" than somebody that ask: "Is SA a good city?"
