OH. I did not know that was a problem. I thought the decomposed granite trails were good for biking.

Have you ridden the rough trails on the Salado Creek Greenway next door to PHP?

That area is some of the best riding in San Antonio as far as technical stuff goes. It was kinda disappointing to hear that PHP park will be off limits but I just hope they finish extending the linear creekway park to 1604 and to Walker Ranch and then on to Mcallister.

If you haven't seen it already, here is a map showing when each section is supposed to open.

I walk those trails almost every day.

I see people going onto the greenway on bikes sometimes, entering off the paved leg close to the bridge, so there must be a trail passable by mountain bike that they're using. I don't know if the park patrol tickets them or not if he sees them.

Anybody?

You must be talking about the Greenbelt trail between the park and Hubener not PHP proper?

@2dmaxx

Yes, I think it's technically called "Upper Salado Creek Greenway" and it's paved. I saw people going into the brush on the left of the path, if you face Huebner, about halfway down the path from the trailhead.

Yes, it's perfectly fine there, the people who built the trails actually get approval, it's the PHP part where that will not be allowed.
