Sorry to bring up another commute thread, but one possibility has not been addressed: Commuting from the vicinity of Corona in the direction of Redlands? My soon to be wife has best job prospects in Irvine, whereas I will work in Redlands. Now, the Irvine part is just a possibility, whereas Redlands is a definite.

So my question is this, commuting from the direction of Corona area (91-215-10).. is this a reverse commute for a 9am-5pm job or is it just as bad that direction?

We have thrown around ideas of living anywhere in IE ranging from Palm Springs to Yucaipa to Corona... it just seems Irvine is the center of marketing jobs for her. I prefer the idea of Palm Springs, but sadly not a lot of marketing jobs out that way.

Thanks for any insight!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! From Corona, she will definitely have a rough drive both ways. The majority of people seem to live in the Corona, Norco, Riverside area and commute into Orange County. You, on the other hand, will probably have an easier time getting to work in Redlands since you are going in the opposite direction of the majority of commuters. Keep in mind you will still have a 30 mile trip to Redlands, but at least the traffic shouldn't be as heavy as the commute into Orange.

If you need any advice or want help looking for a home, please send me an email and I would be happy to help.

there is a commuter train from corona that goes to irvine, something to think about. the reverse commute to redlands, should be painless minus the $4/gallon price of gas.
