Got a good job offer and now I have to relocate my family to Riverside area. We have lived in San Diego all our life so this is a hard move for all of us. I have an autistic son, I really need helping figuring out which has the best city with the best schools in Menifee, Moreno Valley, San Jacinto, Winchester, Riverside area. School has really been a nightmare situation with my son, so I do not want to place him in a school that is going to be a nightmare again. But San Diego has gotten so expensive we are living in a really small apartment and paying so much money for it is ridiculous. I am trying to remain optimistic but I would love some help figuring this out.

I really need to make the best choice for my family. Please any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Whatever you do, stay out of San Jacinto/Hemet. It's a cesspool. 90% of it, at least.

Murrieta's school districts have been rated number 1. Also, I would recommend staying out of Moreno Valley.

I don't have kids in school anymore, but we live in Yucaipa and it's a nice town, might be less expensive than Riverside and it's 20 miles away from the downtown area. We moved out here 4 years ago after living my entire life in the San Gabriel Valley. The air is clean and you can see the stars at night.

When will the yuppies (like me) discover the trails and clear skies of Yucaipa? It is a gorgeous place but nobody there 21 to 45 unless they have kids. All your parks, the fishing lagoons, etc. could build thousands of miles of mountain biking trails into the hills (they've already started). The new Crafton College is replacing old, earthquake prone concrete buildings with metal ones - the city sits about 3 miles from the San Andreas Fault, and there's sort of a weird energy there for those of us "earthquake sensitives." If I lived in a metal building, I could live there !

The mountains (San Bernardino Mtns) rise right behind the city and it looks like the Himalayas. Kind of like, Ojai, CA.

Maybe Yucaipans want to keep their place a secret and keep us out. I don't blame them ! :-)

Default Is that for or against?

Hello,

My spouse received a job offer in the same area so I, too, am seeking info about the communities around Riverside and Riverside itself. Our children are grown so we no longer have to worry about the quality of schools. We won't be buying a home this time, at least not for a year or two to ensure we can or want to stay there before we bog ourselves down with property.

Did you mean thumbs-up or thumbs-down to Rancho Cucamonga and Corona?

Thanks in advance for any info you provide.
