The commute from North Fontana to Los Angeles in the morning, if you leave Fontana at 8 AM you'll be in downtown by 9:20 or 9:30 at the very latest. On the way back, during rush hour it can take up to 2 hours but never longer than that.

Very well worth it for a safe neighborhood and much nicer housing than LA.

Take the 210 to the 605 to the 10 EXPRESS LANES. The express lanes is a must and saves a lot of time.
On the way back, the reverse 10 express lanes > 605 > 210.
Believe me do not drive to downtown LA when there is a great train system that goes right there. I used to drive but now would never go back. Fontana to LA is not a bad commute on the train.

I actually did for 4 months and couldn't deal with it anymore. When all was said and done it ended up taking much more time out of my day. And having to operate on THEIR schedule was very inconvenient.

The drive is not bad either (in terms of time), you save quite a bit of time as long as you're able to take the 10 Express Lanes, and carpool lane on the 210.

The metrolink is always delayed by minutes daily, and it seems like its every month or two that it hits someone on the tracks and causes hours of delay.

For this reason, I purchased a Honda Civic, for the sole reason of commuting to and from work. (I wouldn't be able to commute from Fontana to LA in my v8 Challenger! )

Surprising I commute daily and the delays aren't bad. I have a flexible work schedule so that helps. Had many more freeways delays when I drove. Always a truck accident on the 10 or 210.
