I know this sounds a little far-fetched and strange, but I actually somewhat have a fascination for these large, full trees that line along the Union Pacific railroad and the I-10 freeway. Those trees are freaking huge!

SO, one question: What are those large, full trees called that line along the railroad/I-10 freeway in the Banning Pass (San Gorgonio Pass) area (Banning, Beaumont, etc.) and the Colton/Rialto/Bloomington/Fontana/Rancho Cucamonga area? Are they called "elms," or some other name for them?

Another question: How about those OTHER large, full trees that line along the railroad/I-10 freeway in the Coachella Valley (Greater Palm Springs Area)? What are they called?

PLEASE take the time to answer these two questions as soon as possible!

Any answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Why "as soon as possible"? Are the trees going to explode or something? Such drama.

Ummm... No! I appreciate your sense of humor, though.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but they look to me like Eucalyptus trees.

A photo would be helpful, but if they're large, full trees, they are probably either eucalyptus or sycamores.

Yes, you guys are right. The ones that line along the railroad/I-10 freeway in the Banning Pass area and the C/R/B/F/RC area are eucalyptus trees. How about the ones lining the railroad/I-10 in the Coachella Valley?

I've found the name for those dark-green trees lining the railroad/I-10 in the Coachella Valley. They're called tamarisk trees (a.k.a., athel tamarisks/trees, salt cedars, etc.). :P
