We are considering moving to SoCal this summer. Since we realize we need a job lined up before making the move from Louisiana, can anyone tell me if they have had to secure a job in another state before actually moving there? And if so, how hard was that to do on a limited budget? (I mean, we can't afford to fly out to Cali all the time for interviews). Is there a good way to line up a new job without making multiple trips for interviews? Also, same with housing (we would rent at first) but not sure on which areas are good/bad, etc? We have two small children. Any suggestions on how to go about making this transition being so far away? Thanks

some companies, especially tech companies, will allow you to interview remotely via phone and internet.

other than that, we're relocating currently to another state and we're doing the house and the job at the same time and hoping it falls into place.
