We are moving from IL to Temecula and have 4 kids ranging in age from 10 as the oldest to 6 as the youngest. I'm feeling lost at which school district would fit for us. Does anyone have a preference for which school is better academically? We also participate heavily in wrestling and football for my boys and cheer and dance for my daughter.

All the schools in Temecula are under TVUSD. Temecula Valley Unified School District and are all very good schools. I have heard Great Oak high school is the best but I am not sure how true or if it is any different from the other 2 High schools. It is the newest of the 3 High Schools opened in 2004.

I would guess the elementary schools are all going to be very similar academically since they all fall under TVUSD.

Plenty of Sports here in Temecula along with Cheer and dance. Temecula is filled with kids so there are plenty of options for them.

I agree with the other poster that if you can afford South Temecula in the Great Oak zone that is your best bet and Red Hawk is a great elementary school though you can’t really go wrong with too many of the schools. It’s a great district overall, as is Murriera.

Unless you move to murrieta or menifee, your kids will be in the TVUSD which is great at jus about any school. There are some charter schools that are a bit tougher academically, but might be harder to get in. In my opinion all 3 Temecula high schools are very solid, but yes, Great Oaks has the newest and arguably best campus. Are the acedemics and sports better here? If so, only barely. The huge casino across the street from it, donated sizable amounts to the school. Living in south Temecula has its disadvantages though, including some wicked traffic, some homes with higher prices, high taxes and HOA fees, further distance to mall/Costco/ some dining options.
