The one Aero Drive is in Murphy Canyon/Tierrasanta, and that isn't Kearny Mesa, that one is on Shawline Road. I don't think the one in College Grove is considered Lemon Grove for some reason. There is a Walmart Supercenter in Eastlake, but I've never been inside of it.

As far as I know Walmart is not leaving the city. What has happened is the city council said it doesn't Walmart Super Centers (the kind which also sell groceries) here and have refused to approve any of Walmart's requests. The objections have to do with increased traffic, shutting down local businesses, and that unions representing the large grocery store chains really don't want the nonunion competition. I don't shop at Walmart because I don't like their labor practices and the fact that they push American companies to relocate to China but I'd still support letting Walmart open a super center or two provided they didn't demand any taxpayer subsidies (which Walmart usually does demand). Heck, I'd even charge them a special assessment tax to help deal with all the traffic their store creates.

I never knew that there were only 3 Walmarts within San Diego city limits. I just looked on the map and there isn't a store to be found from Balboa Ave. all the way up to Oceanside - that's 28 miles. No wonder Walmart is dying to open up more stores in the area.

The one in Kearny Mesa is close to Balboa Ave. It's right off of 805.

Hmm, I thought west of 15 is Kearny Mesa and east of it was Murphy Canyon. My bad.

Thanks sass. I think as long as I've lived in SD I've been to that mall 3 times.

Thanks moved. I am rarely in that area at all. I usually skip it and head toward Mira Mesa or Scripps Ranch when I go into the north city.

Glad that San Diego is also refusing to let WalMart in. There is only one Walmart in the city limits of Los Angeles though a dozen stores in the county. No Walmarts in San Francisco. Walmarts are anti-union and create an unfair advantage for local stores to compete. I wish there were no Walmarts anywhere in California!

There's only one in Oakland too. Glad to know LA also keeps them out and good to know SD is doing it's part as well.
