I would say the nearest BIG mall is North County Mall in Escondido - but I guess it depends on what kind of mall you're looking for.

When I was there I drove to North County Fair in Escondido. I guess they didn't have a Westfield off the 15 in RB then as I lived in both Poway and RB and am unfamiliar with that; however I left that area in 1996.

Carmel Mountain Road just off the I-15 and south of Camino Del Norte is a big shopping area.

Go to North County Fair (I think it's also called Westfield or something like that). I think that mall is the biggest mall in San Diego County.

The mall is now called Westfield North County. It used to be called North County Fair before Westfield bought it. It's technically located in Escondido (not Rancho Bernardo) since it's on the north side of Lake Hodges. Just to clarify.

BTW, while North County will probably have everything you need, if you're looking for a nice outdoor mall to enjoy the awesome SoCal weather, Westfield UTC in La Jolla would be your best bet. Or you can try Fashion Valley Mall, but just be warned it can be quite crowded.

Mike
