A part from the beautiful beaches we have here in the County.
One area that doesn't get a lot of attention is our back country. Over the years the back country has been pushed further and further out due to development and population growth, but luckily these areas are protected by the National Forest Association.

I caught this nice little article on the 3 Sisters Falls which backs up to the Cleveland Natl Forest. Still untapped and available for the more adventurous at heart.

Enjoy

I haven't been there in about a year but they are awesome! Someone should go over there and take some pics then post them on here!

Couldn't agree more with respect to hiking in east county. The beaches in San Diego are great, but my most enjoyable experiences when I lived there involved hiking in the laguna mountains and the anza-borrego desert. I hiked to 3 sisters once, but I never took the plunge. Looks like fun!!!

We went last year to 3 sisters and it was an awesome sight from both far away and up close. Definately not a stroll in the park type of hike, but one of the better ones we did.

It's a demanding hike (if you're in average shape like I am- I can think of plenty of friends I wouldn't even *think* to drag along that trail) but all the more rewarding for the effort.

A good hike, but watch out for the poison oak stands that are 10 feet high.
