I'm one of those weirdos that loves the heat I enjoy Las Vegas in August, seriously. Anyway, we live in Oceanside, about 1/2 mile from the beach (we walk there almost everyday). I was aware of "June Gloom", but since arriving here in early May, it's rarely been sunny and rarely been hot. I really can't stand overcast weather, it's so depressing to me. I'm starting to regret moving here, please give me some hope! Even 5 miles inland was not sunny today....hot and humid, but no sun.

Keep going east. Have you thought about moving to Death Valley? I hear it's always hot out there.

I can understand how you feel. Overcast weather is really depressing for me as well. I can't give you any info because I just moved here, but I can tell you that I just moved to Fallbrook and it has been sunny here every day. We go into Vista a lot as well and the weather is always sunny. Are you renting? If so, you may want to find out about the weather patterns of neighboring towns.

Even though it may be overcast...you are a half mile from the beach.Wow! I would love that. Just something to be thankful for even though it is gloomy.

Dude... summer runs through almost November here. We're just getting started. The marine layer is part of the deal with living on the coast. Get used to it or move inland.

This is why I like living in Santee better than Clairemont. I know some days here exceed 100 degrees, but I have central A/C unlike the apartment I had in Clairmont in which the oscillating fan didn't do much on the days the temp went about 80. I also like the scenery here. Many people in S.D. love the coast, but I'm more of a mountains person.

The moisture in the ocean keeps the moisture over head. It would have to be super hot for the sun to burn through those clouds. Overcast is nature working. You should probably move inland.

Gotta love that marine layer, because without it we'd be as HOT as the Sahara! When I wake up and see the overcast sky, I'm smiling because that's going to be a day without the unpleasant heat.

North County Inland is the spot to be. Sunny at 6am. But don't go too inland (4-5 miles east of the 15) or it gets really hot.
