As a DirecTv customer who loves his NFL Sunday Ticket and as a result hasn't seen a Padres game on TV since switching off Cox in 2008, I'm ecstatic. This cable-only TV deal has killed our team's payroll. It's time to generate some revenue and pour it back into the team's payroll. Great news for Padres fans.

Though I do have COX and I do like 4SD,I really hope they do go with a Fox Sports Net(SD or whatever they wanna call it)

Plus if a customer has another cable company they will now be able to enjoy Padre games, thus having the possibility to have more fans in the seats.Last time I checked-that's a good thing.

Only concern? How many games would be showed a season?140-145 out of 162 games is pretty damn good.

I already have the sports pack. I can watch Fox Sports Midwest, Fox Sports Northwest, the Madison Square Garden network. Who knows for sure, but I imagine they'll just add Fox Sports SD to the sports mix I already pay for.

When I moved out here from Rhode Island, I was shocked that the Padres weren't available to DirecTV users. Back there NESN, which carries the Red Sox, was available on all platforms. It's no surprise that the Padres are a small market team with their television deal.

Not sure why I'm excited about getting to see a bunch of .220 hitters, but it would be nice.

They should make all the games (home or away, if they sold all of the tickets or not) free on TV just to pay us back the hundreds of millions in tax payer money which got spent on their stadium.

I wouldn't bet on that as baseball's programming costs are so high. Besides, we are watching a record setting year. On pace for ..............48

Fox Sports San Diego? If the Chargers move, all they will be able to cover is a losing baseball team. Doesn't seem to make much sense. Sure they could cover the Aztecs... but come on.
