DH is dear husband.

Yes, I figured 36 minutes on a good day. A very good day, lol. Then added 20 minutes to it. DH just won't do it.

I'm sort of limited to Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Carmel and Torrey which are too expensive and Rancho Penasquitos which people haven't rated so highly here.

Ugh. Now I'm also reading that the schools are overcrowded and my kids may not get into the local school or the same school. I called the Poway district to verify. This is just really getting depressing and I'm running out of time, not to mention sanity.

Default Timing is everything

Good rentals come and go on the market in the matter of days. Finding a good rental from afar is going to be tricky. Can your husband come out first and stay in corp housing till you find something?

The place we ended up renting came on the market the morning we happened to be looking. With your budget ($3400) you should be able to find something perfectly reasonable in the areas you mention (even Carmel Valley has some areas where houses rent for this.)

Can you can afford to put your kids in private school? All the public schools are overcrowded now.
