Cool! What hours are you open for us to descend upon you for picking fruit and stuff?

Holy Hannah, girl. My mouth is watering just reading that.

I've really got to see if there are any u-pick/pick-your-own places near bus stops. Another disadvantage to not having a car.

Naomi, Yelp might have some orchards and fields listed, too.

LOL....NO ONE touches my Blood Reds or Navals! But lemons...Holy Crap...no dysentery around here! One Meyers Lemon tree yields hundreds of lemons. One can only make so much lemonade! We found the Fallbrook Food Bank is very thankful for any donations of food, so any excess fruit goes straight to them. We bring them a few crates every 2 weeks or so.

Do the things, hobbies you enjoy Naomi not hang out in Del Mar Starbucks and that is how you'll meet people you enjoy and not write cd posts on that topic.
This post just struck me as rude.

Yes, second sentence was admittedly useful but rude.

It seems to me that there might have been a grape picking place in Temecula?

Good for you! I often wonder about that very thing - if any of the fruit I see makes it way to Food Banks. Here in Southern California, you see so many trees with excess fruit hanging on it and lyingon the ground - fruit that is clearly going to go to waste.

There's a group here- the name escapes me at the moment- that goes around picking that excess fruit and donating it to neighborhood feeding programs.

Edit: here ya go

What a great idea!
Sooo much fruit goes to waste!
But, the critters in the area are all well fed! This morning I went down to the orchard to clean up fruit and collect the good stuff. I collected 6 or 7 lemons and and 3 oranges that had fallen off the trees, but still edible. I put them on a outdoor potting bench we have down there and continued collecting the bad stuff. Pulled the trashcan up to the street and came back for my fruit. All the lemons still there, but the oranges were all gone! 4 legged little thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!
