True, Governor Rick Perry loves to hate on California and brag about how better Texas is.

When a State is more relevant than many countries in the world, it is an easy target.

I prefer our sexy Perry, Katy, over their sexist Rick Perry, dumb successor to dumb war criminal selected baby Bush.

I must disagree with your perception of California being "more relevant than many countries in the world"

Have you checked Texas's economy lately? Have you heard of the professionals who are predicting a total domination within the next 5-10 years (it's already happening) or the countless articles on why "Texas is Americas future"

California is sinking day by day. And honestly, as a Texan. Many of us get irritated and "hate" California. Because Californians flood our states, and ruin them (IE Colorado)

Lets do another study..... Check the population maps, and see how Californians are #1 jumping ship to Texas.... Hmmm.. I wonder why? Oh wait... Because companies are jumping ship to a more business friendly state. Either way we all have our own opinions.

-Laugh now cry later.

Why do people brag about loving California? Why do people brag about how great 'their' sports team, and how horrible their rivals are, even when the W-L record clearly indicates otherwise? Why do people pray to have their own land blessed and another's subdued? Why do hate crimes persist everywhere, all the time?

Pride.

Um, if you want to make the "people from other states are flooding our area and ruining it for the rest of us!" argument, the San Diego forum is not the place to do it. There are so many transplants here from all over (even the Great State of Texas!!) that we natives sometimes forget where we are. Please .. different strokes for different folks. No need to talk up Texas to people who don't want to live there. Just be happy where you are ... even when it's 105 and muggy.

Its just too easy to pick on California. So many aspects of CA are in the main stream that it may go against the grain of how people everywhere else live their lives. Almost like it represents some kind of perceived false reality made up of celluloid.

Just read the lyrics of Californication by the Red Hit Chili Peppers. To some dude working in a construction union on the east coast that has Bruce Springsteen songs as part of their lifestyle, CA is very very far from that.

So yeah, I suppose some people brag to pick on what they dont know.

Well.... I am a transplant myself (just to take care of my father)

Both states have their own great qualities. No need to get ugly.

105 and muggy? Ever been to death valley, central valley, etc?
