I too like ac at night, although it's quite survivable with just fans.
Well, Luv, we whiners are not talking about temps at 9 p.m. Yes, now it's quite pleasant.

Well it's 9:00am, and the humidity here is already sickening...and I only live 4 miles from the beach. What makes it even more depressing is that it's overcast too making me want to drive up to the mountains where the air is dryer and hopefully more sunshine. I discovered the best weather here really occurs between October through April.

I dunno. It's probably "monsoon-y" everywhere. Radar looks lit up. Humidity doesn't seem that bad in San Marcos, and we've enjoyed a real summer rain shower and lots of thunder.

San Diego (and down to Ensenada) is the only place to have experienced the storm. The storm seems to have fanned all the way up north via Riverside County (and some of San Bernardino County) to just west of Las Vegas (heading all throughout Riverside County). Phoenix also looks to be set for a downpour.

Meanwhile just to the north of San Diego, along the southern OC coast, all we have here are thick clouds and humidity - no rain at all. Radar looks like it will clear up here soon. I wish my plants (and pool) could've gotten some water too.

The lower the dew-point the more comfortable it feels despite the humidity.
Currently in Chula Vista, the dew point is 66. Albuquerque's is 54. Another city with a 66 degree dew point currently is Jackson Mississippi.

Do not call the people here whiners. It's generally more humid in SD which makes it feel worse. You can feel this difference driving along I-5 going south. the further into SD county you go, the more humid it gets. With dew points in the mid 60's, 78 does not feel good to people who are used to fairly dry to dry air 10 months of the year.

I recently moved in-land a bit and our AC bill is through the roof.
It's anual, we just forget since we only deal with it for about 8 weeks or so. In September of 2011 I remember the dew point making it to 71 or 72 so this isn't even as bad as it can get.

I love to hear San Diegans "complain" and moan about their "weather problems". God I'm glad I don't live there anymore!
