North Park Produce Bakery & Grill (in Poway). We had gyros sandwich and boneless chicken kabob sandwich. Both really good. Lots of food, enough that we made lunch and dinner from it. This may be my new favorite middle-eastern eatery.

Encinitas Fish Shop.

Fish 'n chips was $12! That's expensive, so we didn't order that. I'm guessing, though, for that money there would have been enough to share one plate.

Instead we each had a taco. Their system is pick a fish, pick a marinade (really, just a flavoring), and pick your dish (taco, sandwich, salad, plate). I had shrimp with house sauce - it was yummy! DH had lobster, which we were surprised to see was slightly less expensive than the shrimp. He figured out that it's because there's much less lobster in the taco. In fact, he couldn't really taste it. We also shared a side of their fries, which were a touch greasy but otherwise really good - crispy and tasty.

Bale French Sandwiches, at Black Mountain Road/Mira Mesa Blvd.

Yummy banh mi on fresh French bread. We shared a chicken and shrimp sandwich. We voted that the shrimp was best - it actually tasted of shrimp which isn't easy to find here. The egg rolls are quite good, too. Next time we'll try some of the more exotic (for us) flavors.

Tip: The only drinks that come with the combo are Coke, Diet Coke, or water. So if you want something different, may want to get the sandwich separately instead of in a combo.

Downtown San Diego...Fogo De Chao with carnivores; I have given up most meats, so limited to more boring salad. The FDCs I have been to elsewhere have been better. Of course, I'm picky and biased especially since I am rating things other than their meats.

Phil's BBQ in San Diego by the sports arena. Very good. Wait in a line for it but we all liked it.

My first time eating at Habit Burger was today. It was a good burger for a decent price, I would eat there again.

We ate at the one in Mission Valley across from the mall. Next I will have to try Smash Burger, I've never been to one of those either.

We went to Jakes on the Coast for lunch. Wife loved the lobster sandwich. I had the turkey sandwich which was good...but not as good as the lobster so she tells me. Waves crashing. Very good place for visitors. Dress nice casual.
