Hi! I've happily lived in Ocean Beach for 25 years. I rarely travel east of the 8 except for work. I can no longer afford it here and am seeking a new neighborhood to call home. I realize I will likely need to rent a room in someone's house as my budget is $1200. My own studio would be preferable.

I often work at the airport or in Coronado. I also drive for LYFT and Uber.

Parking is important as my driving jobs require I come and go frequently during the day.

I walk my dog early in the morning and about 10 pm so safety is a concern. I'm street smart, conciously of my surroundings and don't scare easily, but I don't want to put myself or my dog in an unnecessarily dangerous situation.

I enjoy the walkability of OB and a similar Village" atmosphere would be ideal.

City Heights seems affordable for my own studio but I have concerns about crime and personal safety. I've only heard rumors so fact based advise would be appreciated.

I'm not moving until October and will be checking out neighborhoods in person. Any good advice on where yo hone in on will be very appreciated!

Thank you!

Peace, Joanie

My friend just moved into a one bedroom in north park for $995. That price is extremely rare and she's on the border of normal heights but she likes it and feels safe. She is single as well.
She found that on Craigslist.
I would search in northpark. You should be able to find something for around 1200.
