I couldn't eat at my favorite taqueria on monday because they were closed in solidarity with the immigrant community. But it wasn't a big deal - I eat there 6-7 times a month anyway. Every restaurant aside from chains randomly closes occasionally for some reason or other it seems.

What's even funnier is that so many Americans think Cinco de Mayo (barely a thing for Mexicans) is a thing for
all Latin Americans. Someone I knew in DC used to give blank stares at Americans in DC asking him if he was happy since May 5th should be a "big day" for him. He was from Brazil.
