Are we suppose to be impressed by that City Hall? It's obviously a Richard Meier designed structure and is nothing out of the ordinary. He did our courthouse building without much hoopla. No wonder your standards are so low.

Here's an aerial close up of the Target and Trader Joe's in downtown San Jose.Impressive! Look at those pedestrian filled sidewalks surrounded by highrises. I'm sure office workers from the surrounding buildings walk there to do their errands during the lunch hour.

I worked in downtown San Jose for nearly 10 years. I went to that Trader Joe's quite frequently but always drove. Can confirm, it's in suburbia and no one walks there. It's not an area that anybody would consider a "downtown".

The actual area of downtown San Jose (where there are recognizable high rises) is quite small, definitely much smaller than San Diego.

This is by far the saddest looking Little Italy I've ever seen. According to the link, there are only 7 businesses and restaurants in the entire district, so what's the point of giving it a designation? Little Italy San Jose - Businesses

The Tech Museum can't be that great if it only gets a 3.5 star rating on Yelp https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-tech-mu...ion-san-jose-3
There's no culture in Downtown SD or even art. There's not much in Downtown SD to do. It's boring but beaches are nice. Downtown is rural.

In my opinion, this is just bad City Planning. Downtown areas should not redevelop with strip malls. It sets a precedent for driving and parking, and it eliminates walkability.

It's beautiful planning: service for downtowners who want to drive and get all the convenience of suburban shopping, too. If they want walking community: downtown core. It's a great hybrid downtown: urban walkable core/suburban. Market Center is cross the street from a nice riverpark.

LOL, Topper going for back to back City Data Troll of the Year Award. Good job Topper.

I will say that for a troll, I like that he/she actually takes the time to visit cities (or so he says) before bashing them.
