I just heard something on the radio about the Pandas leaving San Diego. So I Googled it. Looks like it's true.

It's definitely true and quite shocking, considering 6 pandas were born during the 20+ year program.

It's China's loss, too. Perhaps they're trying to round them all up to make exclusive to China, upping tourism/spending.

They’ll be able to renegotiate another breeding program lease within the year. After six successful births and a dedicated exhibit it provides mutually beneficial public relations visibility to both China and the zoo.

As much as a popular attraction that they are they are I’ve found them to be less than compelling except for a handful of times that I’ve witnessed them actually moving about instead of power napping over the decades.

Don't forget most recently Egypt did the same thing. Very easy to spot the fakes.

I went to SD like a year ago, and the panda exhibit had huge line. They even charged you $20 to take a photo, and have a fake panda CGI into your arms holding it. For $20, they should let you pet a real panda. The panda exhibit should be appointment only.

deport the pandas. I like my bears to be American. Make the zoo great again.

I took out-of-town guests to the zoo last year. We refused to wait in that long panda line. So my guests' son brought up the PandaCam on his huge smartphone. We all stood next to the long line right next to the panda exhibit and watched the PandaCam. We called it a Virtual Panda Experience.
