I was wondering with all the beautiful hotels and resorts SD are there any which sell day passes to enjoy the pool or lunch by the pool if you aren't staying there ?

Sometimes when I travel I eat lunch at another hotel and bring my bathing suit for a swim.

The weather is heating up soon. Would love access to a pool.

Thanks

I’m not sure about day passes, but many have monthly passes.

Paradise Point on Mission Bay does, or at least they did about 10 years ago when my family had a membership.

The Sheraton by the airport currently does. My friend, and several other families in their Point Loma neighborhood all have one.

If you act like you belong/staying there it’s pretty easy to use most hotel pools. I used to use the pool at the Catamaran in Pacific Beach all the time when I was in my twenties and never got hassled. Just don’t try to charge anything to a room when they bring you your bill. Behave yourself, don’t bring in any outside food/drinks, generously tip your bartender/server, and you’ll be fine.

We've used the downtown Marriott Grand Marquis pool and the Manchester Hyatt Pool without day passes, the Hyatt even has movie nights by the pool and a game area. There are no wristbands required or anything like this, as mentioned above as long as you are ordering food and drinks and tipping well these hotels don't seem to mind. San Diego hotels are actually pretty relaxed about their pools, other hotels in other cities usually always require a key card or wrist bands to access the pool.

I am looking at checking out Sycuan Casino's new pool/lazy river this summer, for me swimming pools in the warmer inland areas seem more enjoyable than pools near the cooler coast. I'll probably do it over 4th of July weekend and check back here.

Keep it coming. I like these ideas.

I guess the consensus is if they see you spending money on either drinks or food nobody cares ?

Does anyone know if La Costa/ Omni is friendly this way or does anyone have recommendations in the Carlsbad/ Encinitas area ?

Many Thanks !

I looked on The La Costa Omni website. They offer a Golf and Sports membership for non guests but don't list a price on the website. I would be frightened to ask how much.

BUT if if anyone here knows the cost I would be curious to know.

Omni La Costa pools are locked down. They have employees that check your room key/member card on a list, and then give out wristbands to access pools.

Thanks. I'll head right to the gas chamber then ( I mean steam room ) and leave the pool for the guests.

Both Sycuan and Viejas have cabanas and pool events. The new Sycuan pool has a swim up bar and Vegas type of vibe.

I looked at one casino website in NC forgot which one but rooms went for $300+ a night......REALLY ? Atlantic City, NJ usually offers discount rates during the week. Is this not the case in SD ?
