Need to get an oil change and don't like the idea of a stranger being in or touching anything in my car (because of the pandemic, otherwise I wouldn't care). Does anyone know of any places that will allow me to get one done with allowing me to drive onto the bay (or whatever it's called where they park the car to do the oil change)? I'm in Oak Park.

I'm aware oil changes are easy to DIY however that is not an option for me because my complex doesn't allow it.

No place would let a non-employee to use the facilities due to liability, so that's not exactly a good idea. I just had my van worked on, and everything was sanitized before and after the work.

Your choices are to keep waiting, or maybe a friend would let you use their driveway to do it yourself.

All Valvoline locations let you sit in your car during the pandemic. I heard the Coach pitch it on 97.3 on my way home from surfing last week and swung straight by and had mine changed in minutes over by Costco in La Mesa right there at El Cajon Blvd & Baltimore Dr. Look online first for coupons, they always have them.

They had mask and gloves on and were at a respectful distance talking to you and taking my card. He even walked me through how to turn off my service light and reset the mileage reminder.

But will they let him change his own oil?

Sounds like they just want to drive into the garage and wait in the car while someone else does it.

I suppose the technician would only really need to touch the hood to open it, the oil filter to remove/replace and the oil cap to fill. The oil pan plug would only be touched by a ratchet .

He asked where they wouldn’t get in or touch the inside of his car.

No, OP never asked about DIY at the oil change place. Please re-read. Concerned about contact with employees. That's it.

Try Oil Changers. They have a few locations around the city. It's a drive-thru service- you pull the car up into the bay and sit in your car while they change the oil. They never get inside or touch the interior of your car. I've used them a few times in the past, very good service. Like many other oil change places, they try to up sell you other items like power steering & transmission fluid change, fuel injector cleaning service, new air filter, etc. So if you keep good maintenance records on your car, check to see if they're needed before hand or not.

I've never had anyone get inside any of my vehicles to do an oil change. I think he's overreacting.
