It's a dumb poll that assumes that everyone's favorite city is San Diego. Mine is La Mesa.

La Jolla. Which is actually just a zip code within the city of San Diego. But I need to stay out of the La Jolla social circles. It's a bit too hoity-toity for me.

I admittedly could've worded it a little differently, but I don't think it'd be unreasonable to expect San Diego to win the poll if it were titled "favorite city in SD County."

It'd also be inaccurate to call it "favorite San Diego suburb" since there are cities within the county that don't quite qualify as "suburbs."
