What are the odds of being able to tune into local channels with rabbit ears in Rancho Santa Fe? I need to figure out a way to watch the Chargers games while I'm working my weekend security job. We have a TV there, but no cable in my little guard shack. Am I going to be settling for the radio broadcast?

Just looked into it and they said I would need a rooftop antenna. I'd be the only one in RSF that had one, if the boss would just let me.

,

Realize this is a late response, but I just found it. I've not been productive in searching here for "free tv" discussion threads.

Funny about this being 3 years overdue, but how's your reception in the guard shack? Do you still have this job? Hope you've figured out that the outdoor antenna is necessary for good reliable reception ... in most places. I happen to think that I've got the best there is, an amplified Winegard Square Shooter 2000. You could even put it up temporarily and take it home when you finish your shift, no one needs to know.

This was the best amplified antenna available at the time of the switch to digital (2/2008). I've heard people having good luck with the Antenna's Direct brand of antennas but they came along after the fact.
