My husband and I are relocating to San Diego with work and have no clue where to live! His office is in Mission Valley off of Murray Canyon Rd. and I will be working from home telecommuting for a while. Preferably, he would like to avoid a long commute. We are interested in being in a nice neighborhood (possibly near parks and trails to get outside) yet still be close to fun restaurants and bars! Does that exist? Where would you recommend a young couple rent that is new to the area? Very excited for our new adventure!

You could live in Mission Valley, lots of apartments/condos Restaurants, two big malls, hiking/ biking trail runs through on both sides of the SD river. Or, you could live downtown, which has everything you would want in several different neighborhoods-- Little Italy, Marina district, East Village, Gaslamp- - lots of people biking/hiking around downtown. Then there are the fun, funky areas of Hillcrest, North Park, South Park, University Heights- - all with galleries, boutiques, coffee shops, bars, clubs All these areas are close to his job, and full of young people your ages. Welcome

Mission Valley most definitely! There are a ton of places to eat and you have both malls, you have a few colleges down there (like the Art Institute). I think mewzikguy covered just about everything.

Thank you both!! This helps a lot -- we are going to look into Mission Valley apartments to rent and can always try a new area in a year or so! Thanks again for the replies!
