Maria,

My son also has dyslexia and other issues and he is going to The Winston School in Del Mar it is a great school we have been there for 8 years. They have a Spanish Teacher and she might be able to help your son. I don't know for sure you could call them 858-259-8155. Hope this helps...they go out of their way to help all their students it is a great school. Check it out.

Default Hello randipisapia

Hello Randipisapia, my wife and I flew from Utah to SD this week to visit the Winston School for our son who is suffering in the Utah public school system - he has dyslexia along with a multitude of other disabilities, but has also tested as "gifted". We are interested in finding out about the school from first-hand experience. -steve

Hello Maria.

I recommend contacting the International Dyslexia Society. Their website address is San Diego Branch of The International Dyslexia Association. Their email is SDIDAinfo@gmail.com.

I am the director of NewBridge School, a K-8 school that specializes in language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. We do not teach students who do not speak English. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a program that does, but I do believe the IDA can recommend Spanish-speaking tutors and educational therapists.

Feel free to email me at newbridgeschool@me.com if you would like to discuss this further.

Hello Steve. I am the director of NewBridge School, a K-8 program for students with language-based disabilities, including dyslexia. We have a number of gifted/LD students. NewBridge School is a transitional program, where we teach students to be efficient and effective learners and then help transition them into more mainstream programs. Our faculty is fabulously trained, and we provide extensive SLP and OT support.

Our website address is www.mynewbridge.com. If you are still looking, please feel free to email me at newbridgeschool@me.com or call 858-679-5744 for more information or to schedule a tour.

Thank you,

Steven Mayo, Director
NewBridge School
