I am traveling to SD in March and am looking for a hotel. I would like a place that is more upscale but not 5 star, something romantic, not a lot of kids, and a view of the water. I don't care if it is the ocean or a bay, just water. I have been there a couple of times and stayed at someone's home in P.B. and liked it but looking for something a little more quiet.

Any ideas?

Kristine

Kristine, I am headed that way the end of January, we use Priceline. You can see reviews of the hotels plus if you click on name your own price they then divide the area into separate areas. Then you can go back to a page to see what area they are in. You can also bring up hotels by star rating also by price and other things. Priceline has been great in other areas. Look at the prices in San Diego and I think you will want to try name your own price.
When I give it a try I'll post what happens. In San Francisco we got the Hyat on the embarcaderro for $100 ( $236) but parking was $30 !

I'd recommend:
La Valencia in La Jolla
Inn L' Auberge in Del Mar
