I like Encinitas because it also happens to be on a historic highway.

Chula Vista was a nice addition too, though downtown needs a lot more than that to spiff it up.

Does anybody know where the old "City Heights" sign was located????

I'm not sure if it was on El Cajon Blvd or Uni Ave. But I know there was one years ago.

University Avenue, the same as the other neighborhood whos "downtown" is on University.

IIRC, it was either 43rd Street or Fairmount. I forgot if it said "East San Diego"(that area used to be an independent city) or "City Heights".

It's a bit puzzling they haven't put one up in it's place as a sort of crown to the revitalizing going on there. I imagine it would be one of the best bang for the bucks for reviving the pride in the homeowners around that area.
