We have gone here for about a year and arrived today. They said my account was suspended. Doubted it but they refused to serve us. Called back they had compiled "an investigation" and we out of luck. They thought this was accurate yesterday but waited until we arrived. I sent a message to corporate and the owner (Carmen Genoveese sp)? called me. Told me he had a videotape of my encounter. He was amazingly non plussed and refused to solve the problem. Checked bank records. Each month paid as agreed.

Bewildering. Any experience/thoughts?

Be aware that this company in Rancho Bernardo is "off".

New letter to corporate and attorney. Carmen? Seriously?

AA, kinda confused about the situation.

What did a videotape of your encounter have to do with the bank records of the account?

What encounter? The one from today? Or during a massage? Was it suspended for some other reason besides payment?

Not sure, but arent these places franchised? Carmen might be the owner of this particular franchise.

I wondered that too. Yes the encounter with the person at the reception desk. No it was suspended as they said it was not paid. Yes Carmen owns three of them Rancho Bernardo, Tierra Santa and a 3rd per public records. I have no idea how to respond. He seems to feel he is holding a good hand. Should be entertaining. Apparently there is a class action against Massage Envy for these types of abuses.

No idea what is going through their heads.

This guy seems to feel he can steal and not get caught. We shall see about that.

Your posts don't tell us anything about your complaint, OP. If you've paid for each service you received, why are you accusing the company of theft? Did they charge you for a massage you didn't receive? What does having "an account" with them mean? That they have your credit card on file? What's the problem, exactly? What type of abuse is "these types of abuses"? What are you accusing them of?

We arrived for our massages. They refused to give us service erroneously saying that the account was suspended for non payment. They also used surveillance cameras to record and then replay my conversation with the front desk without my consent or my knowledge.

The direct debit for services is current. What would you call that?

Maybe next time you should put this info in your original post so people can have even the slightest clue what you're talking about.

I know Massage Envy is a franchise, but I have heard countless stories against them, concerning similar beefs. Sounds like a good establishment to stay clear of. Good luck straightening it all out.
