Hello, i a student who will be going to college next year, possibly at SDSU or UCSD. I am from Chicago. I am into an odd fashion style, Glam/hair metal, tight flashy clothes, leather, makeup, long layered hair, kind of girlish. Ive heard San Diego is very much a "live life" sort of place and people generally mind their own buissiness and ive been there and like the city. I don't mind being looked at, even though i im not gay i don't take much offense to being called gay (no problem with GLBTs). Does San diego have its fair share of wierdos. ALso does SD have some cool thrift stores ( if so can you name some) are there any neighborhoods that are particularly appealing to this sort of image. Thank You

Adam Lambert from American idol whose style is glamrock is from suburban San Diego.

You want Hillcrest, North Park, Golden Hill, Normal Heights and University Heights as your neighborhood. Not surprisingly, many thrift stores and second hand stores can be found here. Frock You Vintage! and Wear it Again Sam are the two most popular vintage shops in central SD. If you're a fixie AND a hipster, you will like Velo Cult bike shop.

Yes SD has it's fair share of weirdo's . Mostly the beach area's and central SD is where all the people like yourself would fit right in. We are a "Let Live" city, and people of all walks of life come here to basically "to be free at last".
