I just moved to San Diego County. I want to buy a vehical and get my drivers license. I do not have a permanent address. How do I do this. I know it can be done for homeless people get this done. Please help me with how to do this, not with how it cannot be done. I love City-Data but sometimes you get responces from the most negative, can't do, people. Have a great day.Thank you.

Buy an address at a UPS Store or Postal Annex. Or use a friend or co-worker address. You can file a change of address when settle in to a permanent location.

Yes thanks, I tried to get aqn address at the post office and they were aq bit snippy and said I had to have a permanent adress or get some paper notarized proving where I am residing. I will try the UPS route.

You'll have the same problem getting a private mailbox. The postal service rules have gotten even stricter, due to scams using the private mailboxes. But if you have a passport, you don't need to show proof of a permanent address.
