Congrats on the job. Welcome to San Diego. Me, I love it here. Been my home since I was in my late 20s. Now I'm in my 60s. Still loving it. Went away for about 12 years for work reasons. Thrilled to be back.

Congrats Dan! It's good to hear a success story like yours. It lets people know that it IS possible, despite some of the input the seems to run rampant on these forums.

Congrat's Dan! My husband and I have been here for 13 month's already and of course we love it here too! We found out we are expecting a baby and when we went back to MN I THOUGHT I would wanna move back to be close to family and friends... boy was I wrong! I am 100% sure now more than ever that San Diego will be my home for a long time, if not forever

Finding a full-time job is defiantley difficult, my husband and I each had 2-3 part-time jobs to make it work until my husband found a full-time law office job. I'm a nanny and have a great family I work for, which is nice because after I come back from Maternity leave I will be able to bring my little bundle of joy with me when needed I like the flexible hours too

If you are looking for extra work, there are promotion jobs that help funnel in extra cash. My husband does promotions (he is the San Diego manager now) for Absolut Vodka.. They go to the Hillcrest area and hand out shots/samples at various LBGT bars, before I was pregnant I helped out at a couple too... Way cool people, easy to meet others and if I remember right pay was like $25 per hour. Watch on craigslist for ad's for Promo's for sure.

Keep networking and meeting people, you will find your way up in the employment world in no time!

Oooh... and since you live in Banker's Hill, check out The Market Place for AWESOME sandwiches!! It is actually a convienience store but AMAZINGLY GOOD DELI! YUM...
