You responded in less than a minute... you must be an autoresponder!

My wife and I will try to be there. Sure wish it was on a weekend.

No, I just sit online all day waiting for something to post about. Don't you? Don't we all?
I honestly didn't even look at the time you posted it, I just got online and saw it and responded. But we are looking forward to it, even though we've eaten at most if not all of the eateries participating. Taste of MainStreet in August is so great, we hope this is equally as fun.

We've been to most of the local 'Taste of' events. Gaslamp and Little Italy are our favorites.

Had a great time at the Cardiff event last nite. My wife liked Bull Taco the best (she's a sucker for beach locations). My favorite was VG Donuts (I'm a sucker for brownies).

Oh man, I forgot about this thread! Bull Taco was good. When we were there, they had shortrib tacos, curry snails (the fancy french word I won't even attempt to spell!), and a few other things. At VG's, we discovered the joy of two of us going, so we could have the brownie AND the eclair! Even the carnitas taco at Las Olas wasn't bad, if not very simple.
But I had to vote for the golden fork to go to the Dave de jour catering truck. Man, the brisket sandwich and truffle fries were goooood.
All around, a fun event and a good turnout. Hope they make it an annual thing.
Glad to hear you and yours had a good time.

The website and the tickets say "Vote for your favorite restaurant at the event." Never saw any way to vote. I asked several people and they didn't know either.

We skipped Dave's catering truck. The line was too long.

We too hope it's an annual event. It was very well organized.

The voting was at the Cardiff chamber office. The deal with the lunch truck was he was literally taking orders from people off a tasting menu of about 8 items. So it went slow, but you got what you wanted. For me, it was the brisket slider. Very tender, very good. I don't go out drinking late in Encinitas (very often anyway) but if I did, I'd hope to see this guy parked outside.
And you're right, it was well organized. And well attended. We weren't sure how many would show up. Next up: Taste of Mainstreet in August.
