Okay, I know it has only been two games, but the Warriors' 2-0 start this year is the best since the 1994-95 season.

I'm not sure if anyone is big into basketball here, but as a big Warriors fan - even as a child growing up in Cleveland (don't ask me why, guess I'm addicted to rooting for downed franchises), I'm quite high on this team.

My thoughts after 2 games:

1. Keith Smart is so much better for younger players than Nelson was. He's a tutor and really cognizant of what's going on defensively - often calling out the other team's set and warning his players what's about to happen - seems far more into the game than Nelson was.

2. Steph Curry and Monta Ellis CAN (and should) play together. I was at the home opener against the Rockets on Wednesday night (when most of you goons were watching the evil Giants) and they just took turns taking over - it was really beautiful to watch. Between the two, they were efficient en route to a combined 71 points. Further, Monta finally appears to get the team concept that Nelson was never able to impress upon him based upon his 11 assists and willingness, nay, eagerness to deliver the ball to others as he knew he didn't have his shot that night. Last year, he probably shoots the ball 35 times to ensure a 30-point performance.

3. The essential Brandon Morrow for Dorrell Wright swap was GENIUS. Wright is so much better defensively and clearly, from his 24-point performance last night, is also quite good offensively (and unlike Morrow, can create his own shot).

4. I loved the David Lee trade on paper but on the floor, I love it even more despite the fact he's been a bit slow to start offensively. He's so active on the glass, is a good passer, and seems to be motivating our once-stick figured Andris Biedrins (who I need to stop making fun of if he keeps playing like this)

5. I'm calling it now: If the Warriors can stay healthy (big if) and Brandin Wright or Reggie Williams can develop into the types of players we need them to off the bench, I like this team to sneak in to the playoffs as a possible #8 seed.

Anyone else have Warrior fever?

Next game: Warriors @ Lakers tomorrow night in Los Angeles.

Steph Curry likely out (along with Amundsen and Udoh). I anticipate a loss on the road, but I think they'll still keep it competitive.

I was shocked when I turned on the opener and they flashed a graphic detailing the roster turnover (plus coach and ownership). It seems to work, though.

Love the Warriors.

Ellis is the new Baron Davis.

Curry is growing.

How about them Warriors now? Now we just need to get Iguodala back and we can start moving up some more. Boy if we were in the east, all we would need is a .400 winning percentage to currently be the 8th seed.
